bitewatches Italo partnered with brand developer and creator extraordinaire Mounir Moufarrige to launch U-Boat’s first line of wristwatches which took seven years to fruitage. Mounir's past achievements include evolving Alfred Dunhill from smokers to a lifestyle brand, re- viving Montblanc, making its pens a cult ob- ject of desire, and hiring Stella McCartney at Chloé after Karl Lagerfeld's departure. He also guided Panerai in its development and turned the historic Goyard brand into a global com- mercial success. The watch designer launched a patented system for the wristwatches' crown release allowing more accessible date and time reg- ulation. U-Boat’s first collection, Capsoil, has an entirely oil-immersed movement and goes beyond the boundaries of traditional de- sign, combining innovative features with ret- ro-style lines. The oily fluid flows into the dial, making it profoundly black and amplifying the vision of the hands that seem to flow free in the absence of glass. Capsoil Doppiotempto SS and DLC (Dia- mond Like Carbon) timepieces designed with a 45 mm case in AISI 316L stainless steel fea- ture two crowns - one for setting the time and the other for adjusting the dual-time function, among other features. The latter has an addi- tional black DLC treatment that distinguish- es it from the SS model. Both models have a Swiss electro-mechanical movement, two su- perimposed layers with rotating inner bezel, hands, numbers and indexes and high-quality curved sapphire crystal. Other functions include hours, minutes, and a bidirectional inner bezel, with hours and 30-minute intervals synchronising with the other hand to display two different time zones. They also have an innovative locking system with quick battery replacement. It is matched with an ultra-resistance vulcanised rubber strap in black colour, personalised with the logo of the Maison in relief and completed with a steel tongue buckle and additional sub- sequent DLC treatment in the Doppiotempto DLC model. The Sommerso diving watch collection is de- signed to withstand the rigorous demands of professional diving. It offers a bold and tech- nical design coupled with high resistance of up to 1,001 metres. It consists of DLC and DLC Blue, Blue and Blue Metal, A and A Bracelet, and Bronzo models, all in 46 mm cases except the DLC Blue, which is 56 mm. Each model has distinct features, such as the subsequent treatment black in the DLC to the stainless steel with IPB treatment in the DLC Blue model. Within this collection, you will find three su- perimposed dials: the upper one in black has luminous beige hands, numbers and markers, a blue 24h indicator hand and a steel brushed frame around the numbers.
