biteperformance to another and the other dancer trying to figure out what is being conveyed, more dancers on stage performed the same language of 'hand- hold-clap-stamp'. This form of communication was a cleverly choreographed piece that even an audience with no dance background could conceive. Most of the entire performance was accessible to an audience of any background - whether new to the arts or seasoned, without it being watered down or basic. Never that! The Alleyne sisters produced a heartfelt story that became relatable even without the experience of it in one's life. With regard to how they were able to portray authentic stories based on actual life experiences through their dance, the Alleyne sisters said: “The research and creation pro- cess for Far From Home has taught us so much. It has been a true privilege for us to speak to many people who have been affected by the themes in this production and to be trusted to bring those stories to life on stage. It has also been our dream to expand Alleyne Dance, so we welcome our new company members with open arms and thank them for everything they have given to creating this work.” Another story set I loved watching was the ‘ar- gument’ between the sisters’ characters. Kneel- ing on their heels, the set had their dance of mostly hand movements on the floor, reflecting an easy conversation go from agreeable to dis- agreeable in such a poetic flow of movements which were juxtaposed as both aggressively full of energy yet beautiful to watch. These chore- ographer-sisters were clever at doing just that throughout this performance. Yet another story set was where the ropes came back into play as dancers tugged on them with might to reveal a roughly crafted wooden ship bringing some of the cast onto the stage, re- flecting the arrival of some people migrating via unorthodox but necessary means. This set evoked a lot of emotion as not all dancers made it across having ‘drowned’ en route. An additional set I truly loved, which I felt like getting up, learning the moves and join-
