One of the rarest tequilas in the world, 1800® Colec- ción is produced and released in the finest years of production. Every edition of this añejo tequi- la is paired with a custom-designed decanter by renowned artists such as Gary Baseman, who provided the vision for the most recent edition. Likewise, the Essential 1800® Artists Series have world-renowned artists like Jean-Michel Basqui- at, Keith Haring and Shantell Martin’s work em- blazoned on its iconic limited-edition bottles. The latest 1800® Tequila collaboration is with streetwear artist Daniel Cordas, famed for cre- ating custom sneakers and bespoke artwork for Billie Eilish, Stormzy, Chipmunk and Floyd Mayweather. The limited-edition 500 bottles feature a unique design by Daniel paying hom- age to Mexican street art and its folk art roots, characterised by its practicality with pieces produced to have a use further than its aes- thetic merit. In the design, you will see Daniel’s signature floral style and penchant for pastel hues meld with the vibrant allure of Mexican folk art and the iconography associated with it. The depiction of the agave plant is at the heart of what 1800 does. Warm oranges and reds are tempered by icy blues and fresh greens, conjuring the feelings of heat and refresh- ment. “Mixing colour and composition with the same slickness as a 1800® Margarita, I’ve infused authentic Mexican folk art with my style and signature floral,” Daniel Cordas commented. “The iconic agave plant is at the heart of my design, hon- oured by this cocktail of colour. The limited run of bot- tles has been produced directly from my painting and pay homage to Mayan artistry and its influence on con- temporary art.” Several cocktails can be created with 1800® tequilas, such as Game Time Decision with 1800® Blanco, fresh lime juice, agave syrup and agavero orange. Combine the in- gredients in a cocktail shaker, shake and serve over ice in a rocks glass and garnish with orange peel. Mexican Mule with fresh lime juice and dash of Angostura aro- matic bitters is combined in a cocktail shaker with ice and shook vigorously. Strain into a copper mug over fresh ice, garnish with a lime wheel and add ginger beer. Guava Dreams with 1800® Silver, Jarritos Guava, coco- nut cream and fresh lime juice is created by blending the ingredients in a shaker with ice and straining it into a highball glass over crushed ice. Top with Jarritos and garnish with a lime wheel. The Summerita with 1800® Silver, watermelon juice, lime juice, agave syrup and a pinch of cilantro is another great cocktail. Shake the in- gredients in the shaker for 15 seconds, double strain into a flute and top up with champagne. Pepsi Cola and 1800® Reposado are the Red Zone Ba- tanga cocktail ingredients. Combine both ingredients in a highball glass with ice, squeeze the lime wedge in and stir. Also made with 1800® Reposado, in addition to key lime juice, honey and raspberries, the ingredients in Chavez Dragger are shaken hard for 10 seconds in the tin with ice. After removing the ice, shake very hard for another 15 seconds and double strain in a large coupe. 1800® Tequila and its variations are available online and at participating retailers. www.1800tequila.com Images courtesy of Cow PR
