The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2022 - Issue 31
S ince the beginning, Lebanese designer Ziad Nakad has wanted to sublimate women, weaving various and timeless creations around the female body. For his spring-summer 2022 ‘MuZeum’ collection, the designer invited us to discover an array of different cosmopolitan muses with commonly as- sumed femininity. The choice of models, like the muses, was decisive. In France, Australia, Geor- gia, the United States, Germany, Netherlands, and Korea, the designer wanted a panel of wom- en from around the world to emphasise the idea that beauty is universal. The opening dress of the collection was a symbol of light, born from the darkness, an invitation to make awish. Throughout the collection, we found the Ziad Nakad signature of oversized shoulders, marked waists, and underlined by jewelled belts and embroidery. The signature dresses were cre- ated like mosaics, sown square by square in the atelier in Beirut. Six months and an incalculable number of hours per dress were needed to make this perfect architecture that moulds the woman’s body. Tulle, taffeta and lace highlighted a slender silhouette with accessories, Swarovski belts and oversized earrings completing the set. https://ziadnakad.com bitecatwalk
