The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2022 - Issue 31

bitecatwalk HELEN ANTHONY W hen designer Naeem An- thony said, "We aim to be different, strive to be bold, and stand proud,” he meant that as the brand grew, so did the focus, which evolved from the outside in and shifted from a brand identity toward individualism. The brand name is a tribute to his great-grandmother, who mentored him when he was young. Naeem is renowned for his cutting-edge tailoring and avant-garde designs that go hand in hand with culture and em- phasise the importance of diversity, dynamism and detail. We can say un- doubtedly that after his breathtaking SS22 show, he was given the couture architecture royalty title. The collection represented diverse, authentic and am- bitious people living in one of the most sought-after fashion hubs - London. The designer echoed the saying, “Lon- don is the most diverse city in the world, and I want to dedicate this collection to the city as a symbol of gratitude for the opportunities I have received here.” The brand can connect with contemporary audiences because of its ability to em- brace individuality, leaving space for self-expression through fashion. Helen Anthony produces its fabric in Britain in collaboration with Hudders- field Textiles. For the ‘70s-inspired SS22 collection the designer created an ex- clusive monogram print fabric with de- signs in a variety of colours and lengths. Its beautiful and well-structured classic tailoring materials blend with futuristic textures and textiles. The double-breast- ed suits, sustainable leather miniskirts, and see-through dresses with a lot of skin on show were ready for a night out at a top club in town. Two-tone tweed suits, tuxedos, full-length overcoats, high fashion skirts and dresses mixed old and new with exciting, bold colours. www.helenanthony.co.uk FASHION WEEK LONDON Spring/Summer 2022
