Our desire for comfort, joy and happiness, as well as relief from the difficult times we have faced over the past year or so, has led many of us to reassess our lives and work values, whilst adapting to new environments according- ly. Following Andrés Sardá’s sizzling SS21 ‘Revolution and Re- bellion’ swimwear collection, the Spanish lingerie brand continues to be inspired by women making a difference, this time in the arts, from stage performance to music. The FW21 lingerie collection combines beauty and wellbeing, solace, joy and sophistication with easy-to-wear, comfortable and flatter- ing apparel that the brand says, “make us feel good, but also empowered.” Andrés Sardá’s FW21 catwalk show at Mercedes-Benz Madrid Fashion Week saw models dressed in sexy attire that included a wide-collar grey double-breasted bodysuit with black ac- cents and a PVC coat with breast cutouts to show the lingerie underneath. These were accompanied by peineta-mantilla style headdresses, suspenders, glossy stockings and high- heeled thigh boots. One standout piece was a single-leg dou- ble-breasted morning suit with straps worn over a sheer shirt accented with a white collar and cuffs. Things got hotter when a model came sauntering down the catwalk wearing a corset over a sheer top and floor-length PVC coat, while another wore a bra and brief set with garter belt and matching long-sleeved gloves and stockings. It slight- ly simmered down with more matching bra and brief sets worn under long- sleeved sheer dresses or chiffon wide-leg trousers, thigh-length mini dresses or knee-length bodysuits and shorts in hues of green, hot pink, yellow and white. A selection of lacy and silk satin lingerie hit the catwalk before making way for more coloured versions. These were worn un- der apparel including a lacy floaty dress with balloon sleeves, a criss-cross lace flared catsuit, a floor-length waist-split dress and a lovely fishtail dress in palettes of blue, green, white, pur- ple, orange and black, that showed off the frilly counterparts. Sculptured asymmetric garments further demonstrated the beauty of the lingerie collection. When we thought Andrés Sardá had surpassed our expecta- tions, four models in matching black bras and sheer tops, with long flowing clinched-in waist satin skirts and long-sleeved gloves in hues of pink, purple and red came smiling down the runway. It’s very rare to see models smiling on the catwalk and this was the perfect moment for it. This last scene ended the show and all the models came back to the stage to show off the sexy lingerie once again. The FW21 lingerie collection consists of Raven, Wang, Mar- garet, Tamara, Renata, Mamba and Eden Rock. Raven is the new Andrés Sardá basic in a comfortable and fresh high-qual- ity modal-silk with a touch of Lycra to provide adaptability. In this style, you will find delicate leavers lace, made of cotton and elastane for a feminine touch. In neutral and black hues of Rose Mist and Moon Rock, Raven has double position spa- ghetti straps in modal-silk embellished with a set of crosses and a decorative gold-coloured detail. This style is available in a Soft Wireless Bra which has an in- ternal structure for support and comfort with a vertical seam and a band of lace on the lower part, invisible under cloth- ing. The Full Cup Wire Bra without padding places the breast in a way that enhances the female silhouette. The Body has a square neckline, light internal structure for support and gives the garment a subtle moulding effect. Other lingerie includes the Padded Balcony Bra, Padded Strapless Bra, Shorts, Rio Briefs and Short Thong. Wang is a capsule collection designed entirely with printed stretch silk satin crepe and floral leavers lace featuring black flowers from a watercolour design on ecru silk.
