bitecars One of the world’s most advanced dynamic stimulators was used in the Virtual Vehicle Dynamics Development system designed in-house by the Maserati Innovation Lab based on a complex mathematical model called Virtual Car. This method allowed the performance of 97% of dynamic tests to optimise develop- ment times. The car was then fine-tuned in the best Maserati tradition with exhaustive track and road test-driving sessions in the most widely varying conditions of use. Inside The Cabin Designed to keep the driver constantly central with nothing to distract them from enjoying the sporting driving experience, the interior cabin is made up of simple forms, a few sharp edges and minimal distractions. Every component inside the Mase- rati MC20 cockpit has a significant purpose and is completely driver-oriented. Here, you will find two 10-inch screens: one for the cockpit and the other for the Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC Plus MIA). The simplistic carbon fibre-clad central console consists of a wireless smartphone charger and driving mode selectors (GT, Wet, Sport, Corsa and Esc Off). The GT Driving Mode is the default control described by the marque as ‘performance meet comfort’ since it allows the flow of fluid shifting and soft suspen- sion to make the car’s fierce power effortlessly accessible. This mode is ideal for everyday driving and delivers engaging grand touring comfort. The Sport Driving Mode provides the driver with a track-ready thrill and also a ‘take it to the racing line and it’ll immediately feel like home’ experience. Maserati says the best performance on the race track comes from a combination of power and sport orientated traction. Thus, the Sport Driving Mode in the new Maserati MC20 offers a stiffer suspension setting, as well as a fast and direct gear shifting for a superlative on-track experi- ence that supercar drivers, will appreciate. Corsa is the acceleration, exhilaration and roar eruption that would put a smile on an MC20 owner’s face. It also enables them to unleash their inborn instinct and enjoy the most ex- treme experience at the wheels of the new model. In this mode, maximum power is available, gear shifting is super fast, exhaust valves are constantly opened, and the traction control is re- duced. Drivers can also activate the Launch Control electronic aid to fully experience the MC20’s extraordinary acceleration from a standing start. In Wet Driving Mode, the driving pleasure never slips away. Whether it’s raining or the asphalt is humid and slippery, the Wet Mode will help the driver keep control of their MC20, es- pecially when accelerating or cornering. This is done by lim- iting the engine boost and activating all dynamic controls. In addition, the MC20 features two speed selection buttons, power window controls, the Multimedia System controls, and a handy storage compartment underneath the armrest. All other controls are found on the steering wheel, with the igni- tion button on the left and the launch control on the right. Fur- thermore, the new MC20 will be connected with the Maserati Connect program at all times. The full service range includes connected navigation, Alexa and Wifi Hotspot which can be managed through the Maserati Connect smartphone or smart- watch app. On the Outside The hi-tech, ultra-light carbon fibre monocoque was developed to make the MC20 stronger, faster, safer and dynamically phe- nomenal thanks to its high torsional and bending stiffness. One of the key features of the new MC20 is the stunningly beautiful butterfly doors that are functional as well as improve the car’s er- gonomics and enable optimal access to and from the cabin. You will notice the sleek lines, discreet rear spoiler that improves downforce without detracting from the MC20’s beauty. Its technical feel extends from the pronounced front splitter to the aggressive rear diffuser. You could say the MC20 is furious and glued to the road, thanks to the aerodynamics developed
