The Time Pyramid has the movement built around a cen- tral vertical line, with the escapement, gear train, seconds sub-dial, off-centred hours and minute dials built firmly in its place. On each side of the vertical line are the same tech- nical elements: one barrel per side. Except for a few wheels, the left and right sides are mirror copies. This symmetrical timepiece is entirely open-worked with bridges and plates reduced to the maximum, leaving an unobstructed view of the moving parts. Here you will see everything resting above the equator, including America, Eurasia and Africa, all visible in a wealth of detail. In this one-of-a-kind watch sculpture, the continents are rhodium-plated and polished, and the mountain ranges are rendered in matte. The oceans are hand-painted with several layers of lacquer in blue pigments, enriched with mother-of- pearl powder which imparts exceptional depth and shine.
