bitecatwalk PRADA N othing about this past year has been normal. Therefore, everything we were hoping and excited for was put on pause or cancelled. Last Febru- ary, Prada publicised that the brilliant Miuccia Prada would be partnering with former Dior creative director Raf Simons. We waited with bated breath for what this awesome duo would create together. Alas, fate in her infamous manner had other plans. However, the cruelty of the times aside, what this team debuted was, in a word, ‘inspirational!’ At the end of the digitally presented runway collection, Miuccia explained the unfortunate events happening worldwide might have derailed their initial plans of a massive, over-the-top unveiling of this collection at the Prada Fondazione art institution; still, in the end, it may have been the best thing to happen. She told WWD ’s Bridget Foley in a statement following the airing of the collection, “Today, technology is a part of life — the show is a dance between a woman and technology. The show is about simplicity — about clothes and the dialogue between clothing and the body.
