bitecatwalk A fter years of presenting haute couture collections, Farhad Re unveiled his women’s accessory collection with a few essential yet significant styles. It tells the eternal story of an artist who falls in love with his creation. No one can match the perfection he has created with his own hands. The work that comes out of his imagi- nation meets all of his expectations. The designer, born in Rome, grew up between Italy and France where he spent mostly doing his work. He is a stylist loved by celebrities for his high fashion garments, clothes and accessories that, despite their modernity, reflect a taste of extreme luxury, entirely made in Italy. In complete lockdown for days and nights, he cut the triple organza of silk in a virginal whiteness where the contours appear delicately. In the role of Pygmalion, a Greek mythological figure from a play by George Bernard Shaw, Farhad applied himself to carving a light, sculptural, architectural silhouette. He used no less than 500 metres of organza to create the 15 dresses in the collection. Behind the opacity of the material looms the grace of the woman as seen by Farhad Re. With her skin white like milk, Galatea is the sculp- ture that Pygmalion fell in love with and then came to life. The purity of renewal, freedom, and letting go is found in the perfectly mastered and hand-shaped geometric shapes that form each dress. An invitation to dreamlike escape also transformed the silhouette lines like the envel- oping and comforting long chiselled coat. Attached to the very essence of freedom through his personal history, the artist’s mother of Persian origin fled her country to regain the freedom to think and dress as she sees fit. Farhad revisited the myth of Pygmalion by giving his Galatea wings to make her discover the world. This quest for the sublime, this inclination to shape in the loved one a soul mate, was a genuine desire to share this need for the absolute. https://farhadre.fr
