bitecatwalk L ebanese designer Tony Ward graduated from L’École de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in France. He extended his knowledge of couture at French fashion houses Dior, Chloé, and Lanvin for seven years in Paris before creating his label. He transformed his family’s couture house, established in 1952 by his father, into an international brand. He creates collections that combine innovation and masterful cuts and lines which have attracted royalty, celebrities, and high-end international stores. Aptly named ‘The Architect of Detail’, Ward draws inspiration from contemporary architecture that helps him to envision sculptural forms, create innovative techniques and play with the boundaries of light and transparency. “With strobe lights flickering and deep-house music thumping, we are in a ware- house, past curfew hours, celebrating the infectious pulse that is Beirut late into the early hours.” There were some outstanding outfits in this collection that we liked that ranged from a kimono-style lush satin robe, a ‘90s all-silk taffeta and sheer mesh three-piece, and organza embroi- dered mini dress. The draped pale tangerine cloqué structured gown with bold crystal sleeves and detachable head-covering and an amazing classic-slinky draped silk jersey bodycon dress with embroidered collar also stood out. Leap forward into this designer’s vision. His muse is uninhibited, super-glam with sharp silhouettes. Now and then, the dramatic volumes take shape. Beirut’s glittering horizon is reflected in the embroidered tailored suits and shimmering hoodies, which were both unsettled, yet acutely focused in the menswear collection that the designer introduced for the first time. https://tonyward.net
