If, like me, you have not stopped working during the pandemic and feel like you need tranquillity and serenity to recharge and detach from every- day troubles, please look no further than mes- merising Cornwall - it is the best spot to escape to. Family-friendly Camelot Castle Hotel is one of the highest renowned holiday destinations in Cornwall, whose guest list has accommodated the most prominent Hollywood royalty yet wel- comes guests from all over the world with open arms. I had the pleasure of spending a long weekend at this breathtaking castle with scenery to die for. Designed by the prominent 19th-century Victo- rian architect Silvanus Trevail, Camelot Castle Hotel is hard to miss. It is located in the mag- netising village of Tintagel and can be seen from miles away. Driving to the hotel through small villages and on even smaller roads reminded me of the 1939 Alfred Hitchcock directed Holly- wood golden gemmelodrama Jamaica Inn, based on a story of an Irish girl who comes to live at an inn on the Cornish coast. After the long drive from London, I finally cruised along the driveway towards the castle, where spectacular sea views and sweeping bays greeted me. Getting out of the car, I had to take a minute to appreciate the beautiful scenery. The castle is surrounded by a stunning coastline and the host and centrepiece of 300 glorious sandy beaches, the longest in Britain at an incredible 697 km! There is no doubt why it has been the go-to holiday destination since it first opened to the public in Easter 1899.
