The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2021 - Issue 29
In 1990, Casadei opened its first showroom in Milan, and four years later, Cesare became the creative di- rector of the brand. At that time, the fashion system was changing radically, and the globalisation of the markets required a new modus operandi (a particu- lar way or method of doing something). Thanks to his years of experience in production and direct relation- ships with suppliers and retailers, Cesare took the company to new heights. The brand crafts exquisite shoes using exclusive and groundbreaking materials that blend the natural feel and fineness of leather or suede, crocodile or python with the technological sheen and playful shimmer of rubber or plastic, plexiglass or nylon. These objects catch the eye immediately, thanks to its highly orig- inal colours, patterns, textures and the freshness of their chromatic liaisons. You will discover a variegated landscape of possibili- ties, such as flimsy Fifties sandals in olive green calf- skin set on kitten heels to the chunky lace-ups and slip-on platform shoes covered in embroidered fabric of the early Seventies. From the silver leather pumps mounted on low flared heels and embellished with round hammered metal buckles of 1968 to the ver- satility of the three-in-one zip down and thigh-high to below the knee and short boots of 1976. From the multi-hued polka dot, velour tulle pumps on high conical, golden leather heels of 1981 to the lam- inated basket-weave of the python pump of 2007. In between, the colourful sparkle of the all-over sequin embroidered uppers and heels of the sleek pumps from the SS92 collection and then the suppleness of suede boots with transparent plastic inserts and plexiglass heels in the FW06-07 collection. In the SS21 collection, you will find staple pieces such as Blade in several hues, including Canyon, Dusty Rose, Peony, Cyber Red, Toffee, Blush Pink, Yellow, Orange and Sienna. The perfect combination of femininity and design, these pumps in soft, natu- ral Nappa leather are defined by the iconic 4.5-inch knife-like sharp stainless steel heel and fused with the upper 4-inch concealed platform. Other varia- tions of this shoe include Blade Alexandra, Chantal, Jeannie, Jeans, Leo Pop, Penny and Venus Planet. City Light Oriana in Platinum is characterised by a crystal chain, cut in different shapes, on raw-cut up- pers. It has a 4.5-inch Blade stainless steel heel and 0.4-inch concealed platform covered in glittery fabric with an ankle bracelet that filters the light to exalt the brand’s signature light effects. “It’s about unique femininity with precious sparkles,” says the brand. This style is also available in Julia Oriana in Silver with the 3.9-inch heel covered in glittery fabric. Made from python-print Ayers leather and calfskin, Zelda in Canyon with leather-covered 4.7-inch heel and 1.5-inch concealed platform is seductive and adventurous, intriguing yet romantic and how Casa- dei envisions its iconic woman for the SS21 season. “Our iconic silhouettes have been revamped in this new Ayers Zelda piece, which comes in warm tones inspired by the fascinating shades of Bryce Canyon: from beige to pink, camel to rust, in a magical visual biteshoes
