The Bite Magazine - Autmn/Winter 2020 - Issue 28

bitecatwalk R odarte’s AW20 show at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Midtown Manhattan was laced with candles creating an ambience background with green vines. The brand was founded in Los Angeles, California in 2005 by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. It is distinguished by the romantic, conceptual way the designers approach inspiration and storytell- ing, viewing the world through landscape, art, film, poetry, culture, and music. The outfits at the show had a real Hollywood glamour with pink and white palettes and glitter embellish- ments. A black dress with a large spider in the middle of the cobweb pattern on the front of the dress was a standout piece. Another outstanding outfit was a polka-dot day dress accompanied by a series of an all-over sequinned look. Elaborately draped blouses and puff sleeves had a lovely 1940s inspired silhouette. The languid silk dress with a rose and heart print raised a few eyebrows but was an exciting addition to the collection of beauti- fully flowing flower print dresses; not to mention a few black dresses with small pearl decorations on the sleeves, which mixed up the collection. It was a lovely catwalk presentation from Rodarte. https://shoprodarte.com RODARTE
