bitewatches S ince establishing French watch brand Briston in 2012, founder Brice Jaunet has developed eight variations of the Clubmaster Collection. After working in the watchmaking industry for 15 years, including Richemont, Baume & Mercier, and Raymond Weil, he wanted to create beautiful and authentic yet affordable timepieces that reflected his personality. His student days in Oxford, England along with his passion for sport and taste for travel, gives the brand its sporty, chic, and slightly quirky spirit. The Clubmaster collection is defined by its specific cambered-square shape that offers a retro-chic look. Briston uses different materials to dress this unique timepiece such as cellulose acetate, stainless steel with matt, satin-brushed, mirror-polished, or PVD treatments on the case. Cellulose acetate, used typically in high-end eyewear, is developed from 70% fibre and the flower of cotton, making it a natural, hypoallergenic material. The case is made of premium grade 316L corrosion-resistant stainless steel. Beginning with the initial style, Clubmaster Classic was born from the marriage of form and materials. The cambered-square shape is derived from the Roaring Twenties and lends it a unique, yet classically horological look in a standardised round watch segment. This elegant and timeless watch with a quartz movement is made with a 40 mm case in a choice of cellulose acetate or steel with chronograph/date or HMS/date for the hours, minutes, and seconds segments. Inspired by 1960s racing cars, Clubmaster Sport in a 42 mm case keeps the iconic lines of the original Clubmaster. The chronograph date progresses through its graduated tachymeter scale in the inner bezel and two counters of retro inspiration. The 40 mm Clubmaster Vintage, in a choice of Chronograph Date and Hours/Minutes with Small Second at 6 o’clock, is also inspired by the Roaring Twenties. The purity of lines, fine craftsmanship and ultra-resistant domed glass, allows an unobstructed view of the time. Keep it sophisticated with Clubmaster Chic, an elegant and timeless watch in the signature cambered-square shape. The curved 36 mm case is presented in a three hands version with a distinctive feature of double layers dial that provides a more feminine and elegant look. Another model for the ladies is Clubmaster Lady, a watch jewel with rounded curves. This small but feminine 24 mm case is adorned with a black onyx cabochon and assembled initially on a double tour NATO strap. Also, with the purity of lines and fine craftsmanship, Clubmaster Iconic is designed to be a timeless piece. The 40 mm watch has two automatic movements with an open dial to see the mechanism or a more classical dial with the date at 6 o’clock. The focus on details presents a transparent case back with a view on the movement decorated with Côte de Genève, a sapphire crystal. It also has an interchangeable two-part leather strap. Dedicated to the world of travel, the 500-piece special edition 42 mm Clubmaster Traveller is a fine combination of modernity and pure watch classicism with an automatic Swiss caliber. For divers who have mastered the deep waters, the 42 mm Clubmaster Diver is equipped with an automatic movement. It has a bi-directional inner rotating ring and a dial adorned with white Superluminova, allowing divers to reach the abyss as well as the urban excitement with a mix of modern sportiness and vintage appearance.
