bite fashion Kings of Indigo are focused on reducing the amount of water by using technologies such as the Environmental Impact Measuring system which looks at water and energy consumption, the chem- ical product used, and worker labour. Factories and production locations are important to produce the brand’s collections so they ensure the safety and well-being of all those in their supply chain is of the utmost importance. The brand is committed to associations such as the Fair Wear Foun- dation and laws such as the Dutch Agreement on the Sustaina- ble Garments and Textiles and the Code of Conduct. They are checked by certified bodies and monthly visits are made by their team to production facilities. Clothing produced in 33 production locations in 10 countries, with a high percentage of the production taking place in Tunisia, is shipped to their warehouse in the Netherlands by truck rather than plane. Consumers’ orders are sent in recycled paper pack- aging and the brand uses DPD, who are carbon neutral. To com- pact waste-conscious, Kings of Indigo produce two collections a year - Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter and have a limited amount of samples for sales and marketing purposes. Two months before all the factories in Italy closed, several thou- sands of metres of Re-Gen, a revolutionary new fabric developed by Italy’s most progressive denim mill, Candiani was shipped to Kings of Indigo. “We strive for innovations that take us two steps ahead. The Re-Gen capsule collection represents a milestone in our brand’s progress,” Tonnaer said. “This is an exclusive, unwashed selvedge which sacrifices nothing in terms of comfort, fade, and style. It’s truly a denim for life.” The Dry Re-Gen Selvage denim and jackets collection consists of styles such as Daniel Selvage denim trousers which have a relaxed and tapered fit with more room on the thighs for com- fort. It has a classic five-pocket styling and a vegan patch with recycled metal trims. The pocketing is made of recycled plastic bottles. Till is a classic trucker jacket with a boxy fit and straight inserted sleeves. It has double-breasted pockets with a metal button closure made from recycled metals. For women, Alice denim trousers have a high waist and relaxed fit with the legs wide and parallel at the bottom. The curved waistband allows a fit snugly around the waist. The denim trou- sers also have a classic five-pocket styling and vegan patch with recycled metal trims while the pocketing is made of recycled plastic bottles. Fuchi is a fitted trucker jacket with an oversized collar and double-breasted pockets. It has a metal button closure made from recycled metal. All Re-Gen designs are made with 50% recycled cotton fibres and 50% Refibra (25% TENCEL x 25% recycled cotton) meaning there is no new cotton used in the garments. They are dyed with Kitotex, a naturally occurring polymer obtained by recycling food waste which replaces all hazardous chemicals, and reduces energy expenditure by 30% and water by 50%. Kings of Indigo also have a selection of trousers, sweatshirts, shirts, and t-shirts for men, and trousers and jumpsuits, skirts and dresses, knits and sweatshirts, blouses and t-shirts for wom- en as well as accessories for both sexes. www.kingsofindigo.com m Reinvented Images courtesy of Super Stories PR
