The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2020 - Issue 27
bite dessert season special is Caramel, a Sri Lankan black tea with sweet, creamy caramel and fragrant rose petals. During the week, you can have a satisfying healthy breakfast with sweet or savoury croissants, Peggy Porschen’s Petit Déjeuner, Smashed Avocado Toast with watermelon radish and black sesame seeds, or Peggy’s Pink Breakfast Bowl with pink berries, overnight oats and yoghurt smoothie, apricot and almond granola, fresh ber- ries, and lemon balm. There is also my favourite brunch Eggs Bene- dict as well as Eggs Florentine and Eggs Royale and Buttermilk Pan- cakes. Also check their lunch and weekend menus. The Chelsea Rose Room is available to hire for special occasions. Here you will step through the parlour’s famous fairy tale pink arch- es and journey through the bustling café area before descending the stairs to Peggy’s hidden Chelsea Rose Room. It’s like being Alice in Wonderland where guests of up to 20 seated or 25 standing can feel a world away from the King’s Road as they relax in Peggy’s playful version of an English rose garden while enjoying both savoury and sweet menu offerings. So when the lockdown is well and truly over, I believe regulars and new customers alike, including myself, will be flocking to Peggy Porschen as quickly as we can to indulge in her delicious array of delectable goodies and be reminded that this is the place where the prettiest party cakes, layer cakes, and cupcakes are made and remi- niscent on how life is so good. www.peggyporschen.com
