The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2020 - Issue 27

The Prettiest in Pink n bite dessert M any young girls are known to dream of fairy tales and their wish to meet Prince Charming one day but Peg- gy Porschen was different. Growing up in a small village near Cologne in Germany, the cake maker extraordinaire always knew she wanted to become a cake designer. It was while working as a flight attendant, a job that took her on regular trips to Lon- don, that she discovered the art of the ‘Brit- ish Sugar Craft’ which encouraged her to pursue her passion for making cakes as a profession. After completing Le Cordon Bleu’s ‘The Grand Diploma of Cuisine & Patisserie’ in 1999 and holding several positions as a pastry chef in London, Peggy finally took the plunge with her husband Bryn to fulfil her dream of launching her bespoke cake company in 2003. It wasn’t long before she added A-list celebrities, royalty, and VIPs to her clientele and cemented a far-reaching reputation in the industry. The wife-and- Images courtesy of Peggy Porschen
