bite drinks The brand has received a lot of publicity in magazines and news- papers as well as appearing on drink menus at restaurants and bars. In particular, being stocked and served at Riding Wine Co, Soane’s Kitchen, Harrison’s Wines, Ealing Cricket Club, and Abbotshill Wine Bar & Shop. They were voted Gin Guide’s ‘Gin of the Week’ and have appeared in The Evening Standard, The Stylist, The Daily Telegraph, London Life, Time Out, Town & Country, GQ, and The Morning Advertiser. Master of Malt featured a gin-based cocktail called ‘The Betty’ in March this year created by the Duncans and inspired by Simon’s great grandmother who was an It girl in the 1920s and 1930s Ealing scene. She trained at RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) and had small parts in some of the lo- cal films while working as a wait- ress in Lyon’s tea room in Berke- ley Square. The cocktail is a Tom Collins with the addition of rose syrup instead of sugar which accentuates the rose petal notes in Ealing Gin. To make ‘The Betty’ cocktail, you will need 50 ml of Ealing Gin, 25 ml of lemon juice, two tablespoons of rose syrup, and 50 ml of soda water. Pour the Ealing Gin, rose syrup, and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake quickly, then strain into a highball glass filled with more ice. Top up with soda water, give it a quick stir and then garnish with a slice of lemon. Drink and enjoy the cocktail while saluting the founders at Ealing Gin and of course, Betty. Ealing Gin can be purchased online as well as at Riding Wine Co and Abbotshill Wine Bar & Shop in Ealing; Navarro in Pitshang- er; and Vindinista in Acton. The gin is served at The Kings Arm, The Wheatsheaf, The Drayton Court Hotel, Soane’s Kitchen, and Ealing Cricket Club in Ealing; The Dodo Micropub in Hanwell, and Ealing Brewing in Brentwood. Enjoy and drink responsibly! www.ealingdistillery.co.uk/gin Images courtesy of Ealing Gin The Queen of London Dry Gins
