The Bite Magazine - Spring/Summer 2020 - Issue 27
bite perfume fore I opened the box containing the Golden Oud reed diffuser, in a medium round glass bottle, its sweet and gor- geous scent filled my nostrils. I could smell this all day long and never tire of it. Likewise, the delicious Bakhoor Oudh perfume, in a small square glass bottle, is enriched with a refreshing aroma that is pleasant to the senses. Housed in long square glass bottles are Room Mists. The one I received was Noir Jasmine and Patchouli which has the same scent characteristics as the candle. It has a refresh- ing and intoxicating fragrance that gives you a sense of hap- piness and pleasure. Other Room Mists include Basil, Gin- ger, and Mandarin; Golden Bergamot and Oud; Sweet Pink Peppercorns and Patchouli; Guernsey Freesia; and Golden Oud. All of these sensational fragrances are powerful but not overbearing. You may want to try the Eau de Toilette which consists of two sizes - 50ml and 100ml - in Basil, Ginger, and Manda- rin; Golden Bergamot and Oud; Sweet Pink Peppercorns and Patchouli; Guernsey Freesia; Noir Jasmine and Patch- ouli; and Golden Oud. The Eau de Toilette Intense collec- tion is a range of impressive ingredients including Orange Blossom; Oriental Leather; and Tobacco, Tonka, and Va- nilla in 50ml bottles. Lastly, the body and hand wash and sanitiser are made of Tea Tree and Verbena. Whilst Freddy is making a name for himself through word of mouth and recommendations, other product design- ers inspire him. “Anita Roddick, for her tenacity and drive to do things in a better way. Jo Malone is another. She had a clear vision and similar to me, she decided to put her name on her products and make a difference.” Although Jo Malone’s brand is now owned by large conglomerates, he believes she lives on in her new venture and her passion continues. For aspiring beauty product developers, Freddy would advise them not to give up. “It’s taken me many years to even get to the point where my product is at a sellable level, through trial and error, and learning all the time. Put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to be differ- ent. There’s no good keeping a dream in your head - live it as none of us have that much time here.” We agree and believe through perseverance, hard work, and more importantly belief in yourself, you can be successful. With tonnes of ideas in the pipe- line, Freddy is currently work- ing on a range of eco-friendly organic liquid soaps that include face and body wash. “I’m also looking into an ultrasonic diffuser that works on a range of specially created essential oil mixes.” There are a few other things in development, which he cannot reveal at present so as he suggests, we will have to keep a lookout for updates on his website, Instagram, and Facebook. Flower & Spice London products are available on the web- site, most Sundays at Covent Garden Apple Market, and many small private boutiques.
