These amazing pieces are designed by Anne Rasmus- sen who has captured the qualities women look for in their apparel. After graduating in 2001, she had the first two of her three children before joining Custom- made in 2006. She started studying fashion design in 1994 which involved high school, drawing courses, and the Danish Design School. Her BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree from Designskolen Kolding in Denmark and an MA (Master of Arts) degree from KADK Denmark have helped her achieve her designing skills. Anne got into fashion design as a way of expressing something on her own that led her away from a child- hood in a family where all focus was on inner develop- ment. “All the various focus on sketching was, for sure, some of my advantages and I still use sketching as my primary tool,” the head designer explained. “Although life in school is totally different from reality, I am happy to have spent some years in school when the sky was the limit.” She went on to say, “I longed for a world with lots of external expression with shapes and fabrics. I remem- ber dreaming of all the aesthetic things back then.” Although she has a relaxed approach to fashion, she said it means a lot to her. “My interest is still almost all about sketching, looking for, and thinking of new developments. I definitely have a great ‘passion for fashion’ and how to play and express myself is my true love but the older I get, the more natural it comes to me - it is a lifestyle, yes - but it’s a job.” Just like everyone else in the fashion industry, Anne is very much aware of all the environmental challenges. “We all must take our responsibility and I am, in this case, a big fan of ‘buy less, buy better’. This is some- thing I think about when designing, which means that I would rather spend some extra money on beautiful fabrics in natural materials that can last longer and be the darlings in your wardrobe than to make a cheap version.”
