A numbered edition for Baccarat, the Back- gammon game shows a new precious look with the board inlaid in marble, while the die, dou- bling cube and pieces are made from crystal. Lastly, Marcel Wanders transforms the legend- ary pampille of Checkers into a superb crystal draught. The players compete on a chessboard inlaid in marble with 100 squares. These sets truly encourage you to “live with passion, have fun, [and] forget the rest” by getting together and enjoying precious time with friends. Last year saw Baccarat unveil some new pieces in their Haute Couture Collection, following the success of their first edition in 2018. The collection boasted vivid colours, deep cuts, dazzling gilts, and delicately engraved trims, all handcrafted in the Baccarat workshops and a tribute to the unique know-how of its artisans. The timeless masterpieces reflect an incompa- rable legacy and celebrate the splendour of an art of living that has been admired across the world for more than 250 years. On display at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1878, the Haute Couture Decanter Beaune is composed of wreaths of acanthus flowers and leaves rolled up in Louis XV style, of which the fine gold raised relief is applied by hand. The Coupe Palmettes is a deep cut in thick crystal by a Master Craftsman which allows the di- amond trim to bring out the intensity of red crystal. While the Pavillon Liqueur from the Universal Exhibition in 1878 is a liqueur cabi- net in the shape of an ancient rotunda, adorned with bronze mounts. Created by Georges Chevalier, the Vase Envol has a naturalistic decor adorned with touches of gold that symbolises the virtuosity of Bacca- rat engravers and gilders. Vase Leo reinterprets the napkin holders that decorated tables by the end of the 18th century. Les Oies Celestes (The Celestial Geese) vase, also from the Uni- versal Exhibition of 1878, is adorned with trim painted with enamels and gold and draws its inspiration from oriental decoration and the ceramics of Iznik, north-west Turkey. In collaboration with Baccarat, jeweller Lorenz Bäumer has designed a collection of rings, pendants, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets adorned with hearts and stars in blue or violet crystal on silver, and a clear and black crystal on pink vermeil. The Étoile De Mon Coeur Ring in a choice of Vermeil & Black Crystal, Vermeil & Clear Crystal, Vermeil & Red Crys- tal, Silver & Violet Crystal, Silver & Blue Crys- tal, and Silver & Red Crystal has a heart cut that reveals the brightness and the sparkle of Baccarat crystal. The Étoile De Mon Coeur Pendant and Étoile De Mon Coeur Pendant in Red, Purple, Light Blue, Light Clear, and Black with a Vermeil or Silver Chain have a heart pendant in Bac- carat crystal that is perfect for someone that you love. While the Necklace is adorned with crystal heart and stars for a romantic and glam- orous style, the delicate Chain Bracelet can be worn on its own or layered with another brace- let, and the stem Earrings are composed of a heart in Baccarat crystal heart hanging from a star. At the time of writing, their new exhibition entitled ‘La Modernité Intemporelle’ (Timeless Modernity) in Paris features a selec- tion of over 350 pieces from Maison’s heritage collection while in Baccarat, the fully renovat- ed exhibition area within the manufacturing area will allow visitors to hear the constant roar of the firing ovens in the building opposite.
