bite catwalk LONGSHAWWARD E xploring the notion of impractical outerwear, Longshaw Ward created delicate ensembles of layered tulle jackets, skirts, and dresses, enhanced with a colour pallet of beautiful pink and green tones and crystal beaded embellishments inspired by leaf-lov- ing insects. A collaboration with Dr. Martens saw the classic boots adorned with matching embellishments. Hand-knotted and woven tulle added texture and depth to the collection. A neon green trench coat stole the show alongside the contrasting crystal beads and textural embellishments that looked like prints from a distance. From padded lips and freakishly long fake nails, something unsettling yet captivating about the pieces that almost went beyond fashion and moved into a more performance art territory of dark colours and blurred imagery. Historical paintings were digitally printed onto canvas-like outfits as if it were directly painted onto the pieces. Erratic paint strokes and bleeding lines covering the garments were placed onto flat silhouettes, dresses, lounge suits, and tights, bringing dimension to the outfits alongside the addition of 3D cage dresses, and the use of florals and lips added beauty to the madness of this theatrical ensemble. www.ialondon.com RESHAKE A new addition to the ON/OFF line-up, Reshake brought streetwear to the catwalk with big padded coats to plastic-wrapped denim and graphic print motifs. A mix of the ‘present’ and ‘retro’, the collection was a nod to the West Coast style culture. Edgy and colourful, there was a mixture of styles and designs keeping with the theme of yellow workwear jumpsuits, knee-length hoodies, and newspaper printed sets. It presented a clash of colour and fabrics as well as the addition of plastic materials and brought a modern- ised element in an army style vest with oversized pockets in a clear red. ON/OFF IA LONDON
