bite travel Festive Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London T he Christmas season at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London will soon be underway with an iconic after- noon tea with a festive twist being served in the Rose- bery tea rooms between 25th November 2019 and 5th January 2020. Children in the group will receive a Harrods Josh- ua Bear as a souvenir for their trip to Knightsbridge. Handmade pastries created by Chef Paul Thiéblemont will consist of Santa’s Beard: crunchy, chocolate, vanilla crème, and raspberry confit; Holly Night: orange gingerbread, cherry jam, and pistachio bavaroise; Snow Ball: crispy rice, chestnut coulis, and sabayon crème fraîche; Orange Log: praline sponge, citrus cremeux, and chocolate mousse; and Christmas Tart: coconut bounty, fresh pineapple, hazelnut praline, and coconut mousse. The sandwiches will also be filled with aromatic Christ- mas flavours such as roasted turkey with orange compote, sage, and cranberries; finest Cotswold egg with black truffle; confit tuna with spring onion, piquillo pepper, green olives, and oregano; teriyaki salmon and asparagus with pickled ginger; Portland crab with wasabi tobiko, crayfish, miso and coriander with yuzu; and braised beef, watercress and horseradish. All afternoon teas will be accompanied by freshly baked rai- sin, cranberry and plain scones with Devonshire clotted cream, strawberry jam, lemon curd, and Mandarin Oriental’s signature rose petal jelly.
