T he neck area and the section between your breasts, aka the décolleté, have some unique attributes that require ex- tra special daily care and attention. This is because the skin around your chest and neck is thinner and contains less sebaceous glands than the skin in other areas of your body, so it is more prone to dryness due to the lack of natural hydra- tion, which promotes the development of wrinkles much faster. Some of us often neglect our skin care regime on the neck front. Why? It may be because we do not think it is important to keep that area supple and moisturised. I usually moisturise my cleavage area with either my regular face cream or body lotion, although perhaps not as thoroughly and often as I do my face. While I am relieved to say that saggi- ness does not feature in my daily list of skin care complaints, tiny fine lines have started to surface on my neck and chest. They are most visible in the morning since I am a side sleeper. Wrinkles on your décolletage and horizontal lines on the neck are a dead giveaway of advancing age. As I am sure you would like to avoid a turkey looking neck, it is best to be pre- pared and take the proper precautions. Thanks to revolutionary technological advances in skin care over the past few years, help is at hand. It was time to get serious about treating my chest, so I was excited about adding an extra step to su- per-charge my beauty regime for this reason. Who doesn’t want to perfect their portrait neckline? Based on the patented formula, this small beau- ty device utilises advanced technology, combin- ing high-speed massage, LED light therapy and thermotherapy. Just like Opatra’s Dermisonic, Dermineck has three LED light photon settings – anti-ageing (red), anti-bacterial (blue), and an- ti-pigmentation (green), which enable you to use it in three different modes. In LED light therapy, the energy-produced light penetrates deeper into the layers of the skin. When on the red light, the massage head reaches heat ca- pacity up to 45°C, which helps to open the pores to allow skin care products to be absorbed at the cellular level. The blue light cools the skin down to minus 1°C, aiming to increase the oxygen lev- els in the skin and shrink the pores. The soothing green light eliminates any redness, whilst helping to drain lymphatic liquid. Before selecting the desired mode, you firstly apply a generous amount of lotion or neck cream with vigorous upward strokes using your entire palm, and then do the massage exercise with Dermineck. Boosted with three sonic modes working at a dif- ferent speed with each light, the device is activated by intelligent sensor technology and starts oper- ating solitary when in contact with the skin. As I touched the neck, I felt the vibrations start. In line with Opatra recommendations, I worked this small USB rechargeable system gently in each light mode for three minutes over the treated area in an upward motion.
