The Bite Magazine - Autumn/Winter 2019 - Issue 26
bite catwalk C omfort and elegance take a serene stroll down this season’s catwalk orchestrated by the talented An- gel Schlesser. This designer has perfected the art of premium comfort within his womenswear de- signs, taking care to follow tradition with his tailoring prac- tices and seasonal collection. This AW19, he worked with layers, using them to create striking looks. His models wore woollen blankets as they sauntered down the runway, some holding them in their grasp and others draping them over a singular shoulder, thus creating a fresh, bold asymmetrical silhouette. Accentuating the form of the body were his fitting dresses with a slight drape that added a sensual look to the autum- nal tones of this beautiful collection. Further emphasising his work, the models wore natural hair and make-up and ac- cessories with statement earrings and small heels. Schlesser’s attention to detail can also be seen with his use of pleating around the necklines, adding form and texture. His inspiration appears to have originated from the classic tones of deep browns and greys that autumn and winter brings. Three-piece suits, thick duster coats, and contrast- ing leathers worked elegantly alongside his use of satins and silks, leading one to imagine autumnal leaves cascading from the trees, some m ore crisp and delicate than others. www.angelschlesser.com
