bite fashion T he observation of generation Y or millennials, whichever one you’d like to call them, is the inspi- ration behind Polish fashion brand Gaberon who describes themselves as the essence of the contem- porary style of a citizen of the world. They see the rigidity of urban life as something that, “does not stop the body of its natural desires and aspirations” and believe the "metro- politan environment is full of temptations and technologies, which we allow to succumb to at any time by having constant contact with them.” They are also inspired by the digitisation of culture, visual art and optical graphic design. Taking their name Gaberon from a combination of mineral names in Latin - Garbo and Carbon - the brand draws ener- gy from its close surroundings in which, they describe as a city dweller that saturates, acquires and creates the world on its own terms. “His DNA is cosmopolitan. His DNA is trans- ferred into a system of silver and black elements in a zipper. His DNA is locked in the details of the collection.” On a sort of humanitarian level, Gaberon is a tribute to human vitality existing in the energy of the earth, as a force that can never be tamed and embodies what is carnal and earthly. The brand has made huge progress in getting themselves out there on the market thanks to the design expertise of design- er and artistic director Kamil Sobczyk who graduated from the Academy of Arts in Łódź. After Gaberon presented their Spring/Summer 2019 and Voyager Capsule collections, they received huge interest from multi-brand boutiques in Russia, China and Italy. The brand also showed their collections at KTW Fashion Week which allowed them to officially debut in retail sales on the Polish market and opened their first concept show in Katowice, located at the Altus Katowice shopping arcade. It is perhaps because of their intricate and eye-catching modern designs that garnished interest from buyers and consumers alike. I especially like the Helmut Printed Blazer with prismatic shapes in black, grey and white and black leather on the collar and pockets. This jacket is fastened with silver latches and has a lining with Gaberon patterns. They also have a series of leather jackets that will make you look the part whether you’re riding a motorbike or just want to look cool out and about in town. Choose your style from the Hugo and Hess in black, Mort in blue or Axe in red, all made from lamb leather. The Hugo Black Leather Jacket is decorated with a silver and black Gaberon DNA zipper, with the lining printed in the brand logo with a special pocket for the powerbank. In the same colour, the Hess Leather Jacket has quilted sleeves and sides, and is also fastened with Gaberon DNA zippers with the same printed linen as the Hugo Leather Jacket. Whilst they look the same in design, albeit the colour, Gaberon has chosen to give Mort and Axe Leather Jackets their own name. Both are available in a combination of two colours and decorated with the same zippers and lining as the others jackets. T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies come in a variety of styles and colours that would make you look stylish and on-trend. One of the most dynamic designs is the Iris Crewneck Sweatshirt in a black, grey and white which is interestedly made out of several fabrics and decorated with silver studs. Showing their humanitarian ethos, Gaberon teamed up with Mkotala Sewing Together to create the ‘Sewing Togeth- er’ t-shirt in black and white with a print inspired by the Ugandan Sugar Bag. The entire proceeds from the sale of these t-shirts are donated to education for the Nairobi Girls Training Centre. For the sexy look, the Poli Leather Pencil Skirt made from black lamb leather has longitudinal cuts on the front and back. Decorated with horizontal stripes and a massive metal silver and black Gaberon DNA zipper on the back, this pencil skirt is sure a sexy number. Keeping with the leather look, the Trap2 Leather Slim Pants is made from genuine sheepskin leather with characteristic geometric cuts on the
