The result? A rejuvenated new me. Eden Spa is the one not to miss! After making full use of the wonderful facilities available at Down Hall, I drifted out of the luxuri- ously appointed spa to the bedroom to get ready for a dining endeavour at the award-winning AA Rosette Grill Room restaurant, the perfect spot for some authentic, modern British cuisine. The menu here changes seasonally, using the freshest ingredi- ents sourced from the hotel’s own vegetable garden to create artistic and modern plates. My friend and I shared a bottle of Malbec Reserve from the exten- sive wine menu while enjoying delicious appetisers - sourdough loaf served with caramelised shallot butter and marinated olives. For starters, I opted for the Smoked Duck completed with rocket, apricot, candied walnuts and poached pears, while my guest had Smoked Mackerel Pate. Both were a delight on the palate. We both picked the same main course – a delicious Saddle of Brook Farm Lamb accompanied by spring greens, potato terrine and black trompette mushrooms. Savouring a truly scrumptious choice of Caramel Poached Apple sprinkled with pieces of apple cake and blackberry sorbet on the side, I admittedly marvelled at the Pistachio Mousse with orange sorbet and white choc- olate crumbs that my friend ordered. We ended up sharing our puddings, which are always the hardest to choose. The three-course dinner was
