Working on the advancement of 5G for some time, the commercial network has been on air in Korea since December 2018, with all mobile operators using the electronics brand’s 5G network core and radio solutions. “We are at the beginning of a new era where the incredible speed and connectivity of 5G becomes a reality, bringing the world close to Samsung’s vision of connected living,” said DJ Koh, President and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Di- vision at Samsung Electronics. “We are proud of the work we’ve accomplished to bring our first 5G smartphone to the market and look forward to bringing it to everyone around the world in the coming year.” The introduction of the Galaxy S10 5G is a key milestone in Samsung’s research and development that also includes key breakthroughs like the world’s first gigabit speed 5G transmis- sion, the first 5G handover between multiple cells, and now, its first 5G smartphone available on the market. Through these achievements, it puts unrivalled power, speed and connectivity of 5G networks directly into the hands of consumers. With speeds of up to approximately 20 times faster than 4G networks, consumers on a 5G network can download a full sea- son of a TV show in minutes, play graphics-rich cloud games, stream 4K video with virtually no lag and enjoy enhanced VR and AR experiences. In addition, 5G will be able to unite more than 1 million devices per square kilometre transforming how consumers live, communicate and work. There are a number of new advanced features on the Samsung S10 5G that expands the viewing experience such as a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with edge-to-edge screen that al- lows digital 5G content to be seen as it was intended. Samsung has developed a visual display that fully immerses consumers in the high-quality HD content, games, augmented reality and video conferencing made possible through 5G. The Pro-Grade Hexa Camera has significantly been upgraded with a neural processing unit (NPU) to enhance the perfect shot, as well as being equipped with six total cameras in- cluding the 3D Depth Camera. It accurately provides depth information by measuring the length of time for a light signal to bounce off subjects to deliver bokeh effects with Live focus video and measure objects with Quick Measure. In addition to delivering the speed to download a season of HD television in minutes or buffer-free experiences for un- interrupted streaming, the Galaxy S10 5G packs a 4,500mAh battery for streaming content and playing games without the need to recharge frequently, providing ultimate performance on your smartphone. For those times, where the power may be low, the Galaxy S10 5G uses Super-Fast charging at 25W.
