The Bite Magazine - Spring 2019 - Issue 24
bite watches do, an exclusive limited edition of 500 pieces. Another innovative invention was the Freelancer mechanical collection for gentlemen and ladies with the introduction of the visible balance-wheel and the creation of a mechanical range of ladies’ timepieces. In 2009, ladies were offered their own collection in the form of Noemia whose soft curves and precious materials have charmed women the world over. A year later, in 2010, the Maestro collection saw the brand’s first moon phrase complication on an automatic mechanism in the Phase de Lune collection and date, day, month, week number and moon phase capacities added to an automatic movement gener- ating a 42-hour power reserve on the Phase de Lune Semainier collection. The usability of these timepieces was attended to with great care and innovative push-buttons were fitted onto the cas- ing to allow an easy set-up without the need of any tool. And the story doesn’t stop there. This year, Raymond Weil has introduced a new collection – Black Diamond Automatic Lady Freelancer and an addition to their Maestro collection in the form of The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Limited Edition. Offering a contemporary style that is both dis- tinct and confident, the Black Diamond Automatic Lady Free- lancer is the perfect accessory for the empowered woman. Thanks to its sleek shades of grey PVD coated steel and sixty-six black diamonds found around the darkened steel 38mm bezel, this timepiece really stands out. It has an updated date window with a half-moon opening on the dial that truly completes the powerful aura of this watch. With beautiful attention to detail and an impressive 38-hour power re- serve, the Black Diamond Automatic Lady Freelancer is complet- ed with a grey genuine calf leather strap secured by a RW folding clasp and double push-security system. To celebrate and mod- el this new timepiece, Raymond Weil introduced their newest Brand Ambassador, Dami Im. The Korean born Australian singer-songwriter is famous for achieving the highest score ever for Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest, and for winning the fifth season of The X Factor Australia. Her instant popularity secured her a contract with Sony Australia and released her first award-winning single ‘Alive’ in 2013. She is currently topping the charts and playing to sold out audiences in Australia with her new album I Hear a Song . Just like Raymond Weil, she found her love for music through her family. Dami is classically trained in piano and a self-taught singer whose determination and passion has made her into the superstar she is today. It was through these qualities resonating with the Free- lancer collection that made Dami a perfect representative for the brand. As with the previous Freelancer collection, the latest Black Diamond model is an expression of women who lead a dynam- ic lifestyle with the exclusive automatic movement representing their strong prowess and the design exuding a smart feminine, yet it has its own individuality. Continuing their love and influence of music, Raymond Weil has created a much-awaited third Maestro The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Limited Edition, which has been limited to 3,000 piec- es. Inspired by the legendary Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album, this timepiece stands out through its use of innovative material and design. It features a RW4200 mechanical self-winding movement housed in a 40mm polished yellow gold PVD plated stainless steel case offering 38 hours of power reserve. The black strap, a first from Raymond Weil, is made from vegan leather and has a caseback that presents a smoked sapphire crys- tal that carries the official The Beatles logo and the limited edi- tion number engraved. The grey dial with a black Pepper drum outline in the centre is highlighted by yellow gold electroplated details such as the outer edge of the drum while the special index is positioned at 4 o’clock and The Beatles logo at 6 o’clock. It is the perfect tribute to the legendary rock band and their iconic Sergeant Pepper album. Each Maestro The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Limited Edition time- piece will be presented with a dedicated watch case celebrating the music icons. Created from bright colours based on the famous suits that the band wore on the cover of the Sergeant Pepper al- bum, the watch case pays homage to each of the Fab Four on each side of the box, with the Sergeant Pepper drum graphic and The Beatles logo stamp of approval inside. Relive the ‘60s with this prized watch accessory. The Black Diamond Automatic Lady Freelancer and Maestro The Beatles Sergeant Pepper Limited Edition will be available online and in participating retailers from the end of April 2019. https://raymond-weil.co.uk
