bite beauty 1. Sahraa Oud, FRAGRANCE DU BOIS (100ml, £695) The quintessence of luxury, Sahraa Oud by a niche perfum- ery house, Fragrance Du Bois, is an oriental fragrance for sophisticated women and men with discerning taste. High concentration of Oud captures the untamed wildness and majesty of the Arabian Desert. To appreciate its elegance, one must notice that the perfume also features Rose Absolute, another exceptional highly prized ingredient. Beautiful floral notes blend nicely with grapefruit keep- ing it fresh, spicy and warm. 2. Rock 'n’ Rouge, THE HOUSE OF OUD (75ml, £220) Rock'n'Rouge, a special masterpiece exclu- sively made for Jovoy, is the story of a subtle seduction on the stage set for irresistibility with an exchange of looks between the prima ballerina and a stranger. The bottle design embodies the red mesh lace fabric used in ballerina's dress. The perfume is wrapped up with the floral smell of orchid and jasmine, blended with a powdery almond. Interestingly voluminous sweetness with a hint of vanilla dominates without an overbearing effect. A fantastic choice for lovers of sweet and naughty fragrances! 3. Black, PUREDIS- TANCE (100ml, £490) Puredistance, one of the most exclusive Dutch Perfume Hous- es, created BLACK in collaboration with the famous French Perfumer Antoine Lie. The brief also included no financial or other limits to the ingredients the creator could use. BLACK whose ingre- dients and fragrance notes will never be revealed, marks the great craftsmanship. Can the smell have a colour? Woody and spicy fragrance is rather very discreet, dark, taciturn and discreetly seductive. Its enigmatic and mysterious nature is inherent in the concept of black colour that treasures the beauty of the unknown. Ingredients are se- cret... the manoeuvre undoubtedly succeeded. This perfume is not supposed to shout but whisper. 4. Le Monarque II (100ml, £425) Since no briefs are given to master perfumers, Le Monarque perfumes are the complete artistic expression of their crea- tors. Number II captures a magical moment on the seaside under the rain, featuring a perfect combination of rain, pebble and woody notes. The perfume rich in sea aromas is contemplative but at the same time very refreshing and soothing to the senses! Fancy having exclusive access to your olfactory signature for life? Each Le Monarque edition is super limited to 1000 numbered flacons in the world. Once sold out, the perfume will not be manufactured again unless you are topping up the bottle already own. What makes it even more unique? Made-to-measure flacons inspired by the shape of diamond adorned with a 23 karat gold-plated plaque, engraved and enameled by hand. 5. BOHA, JEROBOAM (30ml, £90) Made in collaboration with Ukrainian perfumer Vanina Mu- racciole, BOHA is a take on the idea of Ukrainian femininity. She is strong, resilient, free but at the same time delicate. White bloomer duet composition of jasmine and orange blossom evokes purity and innocence so perfect that it is intimidating, like a gaze that pierces through. Musky base blended with some amber and woody note reinforces her sensuality. Intense, yet the unpretentious statement is to be worn as a provocation. 6. Pavillon Rouge, JOVOY PARIS (100ml, £130) Anything from Jovoy house has to have a story behind it. From French meaning red flag, Pavillon Rouge inspired by the depiction of a pirate, is a heavy, dense scent, dripping with richness and nobility of fragrance. He jumps off of the skip, spends a night with a lady, promises her a world and pulls a classic disappearing act the next day. The perfume reveals odorous hold of a pirate ship filled with contraband, lots of strong, spiced rum, tobacco and fine whisky. Aroma of wooden barrels is combined with vanilla, sesame and leather accords. The smell is sweet and exotic, and at the same time heavy and elegant - a real saloon for the evening, smooth and uncompromising. This boozy number is a bold declaration that joyous life full of short-lived adventures is infinitely preferable to a long and dull one. No red flags raised. Jovoy Mayfair can be found at 1 Conduit Street, off Oxford Street and is opened Monday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm. https://www.jovoyparis.uk Top 6 enchanting delights picked at Jovoy
