head and almost being swallowed up in a silver tent coat - after all the Red Hot Chili Peppers are never boring. ‘Under The Bridge’ always get me – it’s an emotional song that really brings out Kiedis’ voice and he looks amaz- ingly gorgeous in the video. You can see that the lyrics are close to home as he expresses true emotion throughout. Their track ‘Scar Tissue’ from the 1999 album Californication is another amazing track that gets my attention every time. The guitar solo by Frusciante is absolutely beautiful, clean and worthy of the guitar greats. It’s a shame he throws it out of the car at the end after such an amazing performance. ‘By The Way’ has an easy going opening, then comes in the heavy stuff that allows Flea and Frusciante to go crazy with their guitar playing while Kiedis provides us with some of his rapping skills. In my opinion ‘The Zephyr Song’ is another genius track and has all the ingredients of a timeless song as is ‘Californication’, perhaps the most classic from the album of the same name. The video is also bril- liant and very creative – imagine being able to play yourself in a video game. This year, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have returned to entertain us with their latest album, The Getaway after a seem- ingly five-year break. The band certainly hasn’t lost any of their magic with the lead single of the same name. Behind Kiedis’ singing is a beautiful guitar piece and further along the track you can really hear the drums and bass giving support and weight to the song.
