You will find that some of the suites boast original painted wooden ceilings from the 16 th century and offer a view of romantic Nerudova Street. The attic suite is equipped with air conditioning and there is plenty to keep children occupied so their stay will be unforgettable. A bottle of wine is presented upon arrival for occupants of the Junior or Family Suites. The 130 square metres Five Bedroom Suite with five bedrooms and bath- rooms is perfect for a family or a group of friends of up to 10 people. The doors lead from the common hall, and each of the rooms has a magnificent chandelier, along with a private bathroom. Three of the bedrooms offer views of Nerudova Street whilst the other two look out to the inner atrium. Guests staying in this suite will get a bottle of champagne and a gift upon arrival. Finally the 42 square metres Castle View Suite boasts a separate bedroom and study with an unforgettable view of Nerudova Street and Prague Castle. The study room can be converted into a second bedroom which would provide another option for a family with two children. This room is mostly booked by couples who want to enjoy the luxury of space as well as the view of Nerudova Street. Occupants of this suite will receive a bottle of wine and gift upon arrival. During my tour of the hotel, Matú s Prí- kazský told me that the surrounding area is like a village within the city of Prague. From the window in one of the rooms, you can see the watch tower in the distance which is modelled on the Eiffel Tower in France. The hotel had another connection with France when they recently celebrated the Prague French festival. Lower than the level of the sauna and fitness room is the cellar which was once used as a cooler storage in the 16 th and 17 th century. The cellar was also used as a small theatre set up with room for 12-16 people. I must admit it was extremely cold down there so I could understand why it was used as a cooler but could not imagine people sitting down here in the cold watching a production but Matús assured me that heat was provided. In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Golden Key was memorable and definitely a hotel I would recommend to others. The room I stayed in was luxurious, comfortable and clean, and the staff accommodating. The hotel is almost like a maze and you’re tempted to explore the asymmetric landings and stairs that lead to the inner atrium. I was especially intrigued by the make-up of the hotel which is not straight forward but that is what makes its more exciting and unpre- dictable.
