Barrus Ethereal beauty was the core theme of Barrus’ AW16 show. A sea of whimsical, gossamer looks wafted down the runway, stealing the eye of every person in the audience. But, that’s what we’ve come to expect from this distinguished Turkish brand. Barrus is known for its ability to seamlessly blend history and modern innovation and style to produce stunningly gorgeous and effortlessly elegant pieces fit for royalty. This collection proved the fact that every time a new look walked past, it dazzled the crowd with their perfect tai- loring and exquisite detail. The collection opened with soft hued pastel dresses fea- turing marble-like prints and delicate lace overlays. As the 30-piece line-up contin- ued, the colour theme shifted to include a richer palette of everything from rich cerulean and icy blues to pale pinks and dusty mauve roses and even the odd pop of mustard yellows to display a lovely autumnal spectrum. The pieces them- selves, however, were beyond beautiful, each featuring some kind of embroidery, lace, feather or sequin detailing. The best though, had to be the use of faux fur as either an accent trim or in look #20, as a grey cropped jacket over an emerald lace jumpsuit. As a final push on this striking collection, the models’ hair, which was tied back and twisted into beautiful Viking-like braids, complemented the soft make-up and feminine accessories. Overall, this col- lection oozed romance and glamour.
