M andarin Oriental Hyde Park will be collaborating with British couture milliner Emily Baxendale to create the first ever Royal Enclosure collection of fashionable hats and specialised head- pieces inspired by the hotel’s own history and oriental influences. The milliner whose couture label Emily-London is stocked at Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge has partnered with the hotel to create six beautiful designs that take inspira- tion from the property’s iconic location, renowned restaurant and royal history. The capsule collection will coincide with the launch of T he Royal Enclosure Afternoon Tea inThe Rosebery Lounge on 24th May 2016 with a special performance by the Tootsie Rollers who will be wearing the hats for Royal Ascot 2016. To comple- ment the specially created hat collection, Executive Chef Pâtissière Heather Kanjuk will provide tea cakes and other delights such as a raspberry rose lychee gateau to reference the Royal Gate entrance; a gooseberry, mascarpone and lime tart in honour of The Rosebery Lounge; and a nectarine raspberry frangipane cake inspired by the Royal Guards. Guests booking this limited-edition themed afternoon tea will be able to admire the bespoke collection, as well as be treated to a private consultation with milliner Emily Baxendale, and receive 10% discount on all of her handcrafted designs.
