The Bite Magazine - Spring 2016 - Issue 15
An amazing actress in her own right who first caught our attention in Almost Famous in 2000, Kate Hudson, daugh- ter of Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn, won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She then went on to star in films such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003); You, Me and Dupree (2006); Fool’s Gold (2008); Bride Wars (2009); and Nine (2009) among many more. A regular face in romantic come- dies, Hudson showed her more serious side in supernatural horror-thriller film The Skeleton Key (2005) and Jim Thomp- son’s thriller The Killer Inside Me (2010) as well as directorship in Cutlass , a 2007 short drama film. Last year, she was seen in Barry Levinson’s Rock the Kasbah with Bill Murray, Bruce Willis and Zooey Deschanel and was the voice of Mei Mei in DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3. This year, the actress will be appearing in Deepwater Horizon opposite Mark Wahlberg and Garry Marshall’s Mother’s Day with Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Jason Sudeikis. Also an entrepreneur, Hudson founded Fabletics, a line of functional, comfortable, stylish and affordable active-wear designed to inspire women to empower themselves by getting active and taking care of themselves through health, community, determination, passion and joy. Speaking about her role as the star of Campari’s 2016 Calendar, Kate Hudson said, “I was honoured to be invited to shoot the 2016 Campari Calendar. This year’s theme plays off the upcoming election, which is the perfect metaphor for the many Campari flavour choices. I loved working with Michelangelo to create the distinctive characters embodying bitter and sweet.” Her helping hand in this project, Michel- angelo di Battista began his professional career as an international fashion photographer twenty years ago after graduating from the prestigious School of Visual Arts in New York.
