‘Sleep Paralysis’ is the name of Ania’s collec-
tion. She describes the concept as “being
trapped in your physical body and lost in an
uncontrollable state of mind”. The use of plas-
tic enabled Ania to create seamless garments
to further enhance the feeling of being
trapped. “I’m very interested in textures and
would like to develop new techniques,” she
explains. “For example, in this collection, I
melted most parts of the garments and even
created my own textile from plastic and lace.”
When asked about her plans for her next col-
lection, Ania told us, “I just moved back to
Sweden to look for a job as a designer or buy-
ing assistant, but will hopefully have time to
further develop the melted plastic technique or
work on some other ideas on the side.”
