insurance, tax and repairs. Now think about
that for a moment, it’s like having your own
car without all the additional costs on your
shoulders.
The system works by members receiv-
ing an allocation of points, which are then
exchanged for days in cars, that
Classic Car Club says “will delight,
entertain and generally throw their
peers into pits of envious despair”.
When you join, you’ll be among the
motoring journalists, movie stars,
rock ‘n’ rollers, comedians, celebrity
chefs, top sportsmen and other internation-
ally rich and famous individuals that the car
club counts as members, as well as other
ordinary folks. Classic Car Club doesn’t just
operate in the UK but also in Manhattan,
New York with plans to roll out the con-
cept across the US, Australia and through
Europe. What’s even better, those who join
Classic Car Club in London will be able to
use their points in New York and future
planned branches.
The classic cars available for your ulti-
mate driving experience include the Aston
Martin V8 Oscar India, 1964 Mercedes 230
SL Pagoda, 1969 Ford Mustang Convertible
and 1963 Karmann Ghia Coupe as well as
the ones mentioned earlier and other vin-
tage models. More modern vehicles such as
the classy BMW M3 Convertible (E92),
Maserati 3200, TVR Chimaera, Ford Focus
ST and motorcycles, Yamaha YZF 600R
(Thundercat), Yamaha FZ1 N and Ducati
748R are also available for hire.
Being a member isn’t just about taking
classic cars for days out; there are countless
awards and experiences that will make your
stay with the car club a long and memo-
rable one. Classic Car Club invites you to
get the driving experience of your life with
their London Classic Night Drive. Here you
will get the chance to “spend the night with
some gorgeous models”; albeit at a cost.
The experience involves working in a team
of two where “you’ll cruise the nocturnal
streets of the capital to various checkpoints
and swap cars with other drivers”. Now
that’s what I call excitement and an oppor-
tunity to be like James Bond on a chase
around the streets of London,
except you won’t be racing as
such. The London Classic
Night Drive is run on a
monthly basis with the follow-
ing dates available: 17
th
August,
14
th
September, 19
th
October,
16
th
November and 14
th
December 2011.
Classic Car Club also invites their
members to parties and special events so
it’s like a family affair and offers private,
corporate and overseas membership;
(please note overseas membership is not
open to UK residents). For more informa-
tion on membership fees and the Classic
Car Club concept, visit their website at:
