The influence behind Rizvi Millinery’s feminine, edgy and architectural collection of
hats is derived from merging Busby Berkley’s magical films of synchronized swimmers
with African hair styles.The handcrafted hats reflect the way hair moves in water and
is created from the inspiration of how African women braid their hair.
One of Jasmine Rizvi’s enchanting designs, a beaded headpiece is a prime example of
this interesting concept; made from 2500 Swarovski crystals, the pearls are hand
braided together to create a solid three dimensional weave construction.The collec-
tion uses unique materials such as ostrich and goose feathers, metallic leather, goat
fur and authentic Swarovski crystals pearls which beautifully frames the feminine face
in a sensual and sophisticated way.
Jasmine is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and through her company, Rizvi
Millinery based in central London, creates two collections a year; couture and ready
to wear which are shown at the London, Milan and Paris FashionWeeks.
