If you thought that lace and leather was a trend that would not last, then think again. As this season at Jason Wu that is exactly what we saw, leather, lace and a lot of it.
Wu this season exemplified the personification of the powerful women; he used all these strong, tough and sexy fabrics yet he assembled them in the softest and feminine of ways.
Colour wise it was simplistic, lots of monochrome colours that were fused together effortlessly. X-Ray patterns were used upon dresses and the peplum, which Wu does so well, was brought back for a further season.
Evening-wear wise, billowing chiffon gowns with tight-strapped bodices came sauntering down the runway, the final dress glittering under the harsh white lights of the St John Centre. All of them nipped in at the waist and reinforcing the elegant stance that the show had.
Accessories wise, we saw these elegant hat boxes that Wu had shrunk down to handbag size, chiffon sheer gloves and of course the killer heel.
Overall the collection had structure, it was bold but the silhouettes were kept supremely soft.
And with models such as Carolyn Murphy, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne all walking for him, it was wonder that Wu produced a show that was an absolute knockout.
