With the spring/summer trends in full effect, one of my favourite trends to emerge from the catwalk this season, is the colour white.
Whether you favour a crisp cotton floor length strapless gown from Jil Sander or a sleek peplum adorned dress from Jason Wu, this season the choices are endless.
Celine, Paul Smith and Stella McCartney, offered us clean-cut hemlines, precision and of course supreme style with a few perfectly modified bespoke suits. While other designers such as Dolce and Gabbana, Jenny Packman, Oscar de la Renta and Elie Saab brought a heightened sense of romanticism to the catwalk with their soft cut out holes, pretty lace collars, and of course lots of sumptuous downy feathers. It became a visual delight, as we saw these soft and delicate materials being contrasted against regal and virtuous charm.
However if any of the above still does not appeal, then there are still other ways to indulge in this trend. Versace toughened up white leather skirts and braletts by adding gold studs and Chanel added pearly white clutch bags to finish off their looks.
Below you can see some of my favourite looks from the spring/summer 2012 collections. The sheer opulence and femininity of this trend makes it definitely one to invest in this spring.
