It’s finally here, the week we have all been waiting for. The week in which fashion’s elitist designers, show off their most elegant, creative and bespoke of gowns, a week known to us as Couture Week.
After 8 years Atelier Versace has returned to our Couture line-up. This spring expect to see lots of bespoke colourful gowns all featuring that true Versace style that we all love and adore. This collection was predominately made up of those beautiful Versace dresses. We have dramatic floor length gowns, mixed up with some eye catching mini dresses, in colours such as gold, silver, lime and fluorescent orange, but there were also some 1950’s inspired bodysuits, which brought an element of futurism to the collection.
My favourite look from this presentation was a spectacular lime green gown with metal detailing. This gown incorporated everything I love about Versace and assimilated it into one dress. The breathtaking colour, the mixing of metal and fabric and then that thigh high split. It put a youthful spin on what can only be described as a classic look. While the final look with that elliptical split only re-iterated that youthful vs. futuristic approach that Donatella was routing for.
And with models such as Karlie Kloss, Arizona Muse and Lindsey Wixson all showing for the label, it was no wonder that we were all left in utter awe in what can only be described as the perfect opening for this upcoming week.
