bite watches O riginally founded by Gustav Faberge in 1842, us- ing the accented name of Fabergé, the House of Fabergé was taken to the next level by his sons Peter Carl and Agathon forty years later. Gone was the then fashionable style where diamonds prevailed and in came the design-led artist-jeweller with a penchant for colour through both stones and reviving the lost art of enamelling. Objets deluxe to their repertoire were added, including objets de fantasia in the form of the infamous Imperial Easter eggs. Since the Tzar Alexander III commissioned Fabergé to make an Easter egg for his wife, Empress Maria Feodor- ovna in 1885 and another one a year later, the esteemed jewellery brand has created exceptional designs of the highest quality which simply take your breath away. Not only is their jewellery including bracelets, brooches, cuf- flinks, and egg charms, and collections such as Emotion, Fabergé Imperial, Heritage, Colours of Love, and Treillage exquisite, but they retain extraordinary craftsmanship. Fabergé’s selection of timepieces is works of art that would look sensational in a museum. For example, the Com- pliquée Haute Horlogerie ladies’ collection upholds Peter Carl Fabergé’s tradition of surprise and meticulous exe- cution. It has a new and spectacular time display exclu- sively developed for the brand by Agenhor Manufacture which won the prestigious 2015 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) - the Swiss watch-making industry’s highest honour - in the ‘Ladies High-Mechanical’ catego- ry. Lady Compliquée in Peacock Black Sapphire, Peacock Emerald, and Peacock Ruby has a 38 mm platinum case; domed sapphire crystal and case back with anti-reflective treatment on both sides of the face, and one side of the back gemset bezel with 54 brilliant-cut diamonds. The dial is in 18 karat gold with snow-set 157 brilliant-cut diamonds, 59 black sapphire, 6 black sapphire cabochon, and an 18 karat white gold hand-engraved Peacock Onyx rotation hour ring and Onyx minute track. Other features include a hand-wound 6901 calibre, a power reserve of 50 hours; hours, minutes, and retrograde system with multiple display elements; water-resistance of 30 metres; black lacquer applied by hand with LIGA tech- nology; and an alligator strap with a platinum Fabergé pin buckle. There are also other variations of this timepiece such as the Compliquée Black 18K Rose Gold Peacock; Peacock White Gold Black; and Peacock Red Diamond with 18K White Gold and Ruby. Colourful and bright with pop colours of orange, yellow, and blue, the Fabergé Flirt is surprising, authentic, and unexpected; designed for those who wish to be bold and dare to be different. Inspired by the original shapes im- agined by Peter Carl himself, the design showcases an un- usual element: a ring contained at the heart of the case. Fabergé Jada Brookes admires Fabergé’s exquisite collection of timepieces for men and women that are full of surprises. The World Set in Time
