A cognac brand steeped in the history of the French Renaissance Era that helped them relaunch last year, Rome de Bellegarde has catapulted to the forefront of luxury living. Looking back at its history, the Domaine de Rome de Bellegarde owns its prestigious heritage from its ancestors who were assigned French ter- ritories overseas by the French Royal Family starting with King Henry III. Dantes Bellegarde, a Haitian historian, and diplomat was awarded the prestigious Legion d’Honneur (Legion of Honour) by France and was the holder of the Office of Public Instruction. It is said that the Bellegarde family played an important role in the alcohol trade, including cognac. Despite selling the family Domaines after the Second World War, due to economic pressure, over the past decade, some family members have regrouped and reinvented their legacy. Inspiration taken from the Renaissance Era brought to France by King Francois I who was born in Cognac in 1494 has helped to form the new brand identity. In 2018, Rome de Bellegarde was relaunched on the power of a vi- sion that marked the family history to attain the highest standard of excellence as well as the world’s most inspir- ing cognac. Thus the prestigious French house provides the most exquisite cognac, wines and champagne to an international marketplace and highly discerning clientele.
