bite bags L ike some of the designers we have come across, New York native Stacy Chan did not start in her current field of accessories design. Instead she worked for over 10 years in the finance industry in New York City, London and Geneva before deciding to enrol on a handbag design course at the London College of Fashion. It was after a year of design development that she launched her namesake brand five years ago which takes unique, minimalistic construction as a starting point for luxury. Her classic yet modern bags are known for their clean lines and geometric shapes paired with bold colours. During her career in Investment Banking, Private Equi- ty and Hedge Fund, Stacy looked at the inner workings of a vast number of businesses across different sectors which has helped her in building her own business. “I also spent quite a bit of time travelling, rushing during the daily commute and packing in as much as I could in my personal time, which meant I always needed bags that were practical, lightweight and served a purpose.” A collection of luxury handbags that are all designed in London and handmade in Italy, Stacy Chan London is dedicated to using the highest quality materials and craftsmanship. Whether she is dressing for work, out for an evening of cocktails, or off for a weekend in Rome, Stacy Chan bags are created for the modern woman who conveys luxury. “Our unique designs have been seen on British royalty, celebrities and bloggers,” says the brand. “In addition, we have been included in The Telegraph, The Metro, Harper’s Bazaar Online, and various other pub- lications.” On winning awards, they are the recipient of the first ever Pantone Colour Award in the Independent Handbag Design Awards and was the 3rd Place Winner of Fashion Basecamp’s British Fashion Startup Award in 2016. You will discover that many of Stacy Chan London’s handbags are designed symmetrically such as the Alex Cross Body Bag in Navy, Teal, Violet, Grey, Noir, Peony and Powder Blue Italian leather with Saffiano pattern. Each one has a contrasting interior matte patent in sky blue, gold, silver, deep pink, red, deep blue and choco- late brown respectively for a sophisticated pop of col- our, with two internal pockets (back pockets and pocket in the main compartment) to keep your essentials or- ganised as well as brass hardware with a gold finish with the exception of the Violet colour bag which has silver.
