The Bite Magazine - Summer 2019 - Issue 25

N ui Night-time has got a whole lot sexier and sophisticated with the sleepwear and loungewear collections from Nui Ami as Cristina Lloyd discovers. bite lounge wear A mi A creator with many talents, Nui Ami founder, Sanjit Vallance, didn’t just co-found India’s first glossy bridal magazine I ndian Bride and Home after attending University College London but she also honed her business skills in property development and interior design. Coming from an Anglo-Indian family and born in Britain, Sanjit has come to appreciate the beau- ty of fabric, colour and travel and it was her passion for fab- ric that led her to study lingerie design at the University of the Arts London. Her brand Nui Ami combines two of her obsessions: beautiful lingerie and a beautiful night’s sleep. With a new approach to sleepwear, the brand combines versatility and comfort with luxury and sophistication. The boundaries between night and day are blurred as are the differences between sleepwear and loungewear. Within the collection, you will find their signature chemises, camisoles and sleep bralettes (in a wide range of cup sizes) which are designed to bring confidence and comfort without compro- mise. Whether you are a hot or cold sleeper, every Nui Ami piece is created in the finest natural fabrics and provides the perfect fit. Inspired by beautiful landscapes and places as well as the women who embody their spirit, travel plays a huge part at Nui Ami. It is also core to all of their designs. You can envision these inspirations in the prints and radiant colours shown in the garments. The collections are designed in the UK and hand-stitched using the finest Italian silks, French Leavers lace, Austrian jerseys and French cotton, with the manufacturing taking place in both the UK and Portugal in ethically responsible small ateliers. Designed for women who have struggled to find sleepwear in their style and cup size; Sanjit knows this all too well. Having experienced this herself over the years, the founder discovered that many of her female friends and colleagues slept in a bra and were unhappy with their sleepwear choic- es. Instead of having to choose between the bordello and the boring when dressing for bed, they desired to look more attractive at bedtime and at home in sleepwear that is subtly appealing and feminine, rather than overtly sexual. Driven by her passion for creative design and entrepreneurship, Sanjit decided to create a collection that offered women the elusive fusion of comfort, support and sophistication they were seeking.
