The Bite Magazine - Summer 2019 - Issue 25

bite films T he clowns are really coming out to play with the second instalment of It, the supernatural horror movie based on the book by horror novelist Stephen King. More ter- rifying and evil than the psychological thriller Joker , the first instalment focused on seven children in Derry, Maine who were terrorised by an eponymous being, Pennywise, only to face their own personal demons in the process. It’s amazing that children can have such demons at such a young age. In It Chapter Two , these same seven individuals, having now grown up, are living their own lives and some of whom have moved away from the sleepy town only to return for whatever reason. But their nightmare is about to begin again since Pen- nywise decides to return to the town 27 years later to torment the grown-up members of the Losers’ Club who are not as close as they once were. So where has Pennywise been all of this time? Tormenting other small towns and doing a full circle back to Derry? With Pennywise’s return threatening to tarnish their insanity, the seven must join together to fight this tormenting evil once and for all. Bill Skarsgård returns as the terrifying clown with the demonic smile and penetrating eyes, while Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, James Ransone, Jay Ryan, Andy Bean, and Isaiah Mustafa play the grown-up Beverly Marsh, Bill Den- brough, Richie Tozier, Eddie Kaspbrak, Ben Hanscom, Stanley Uris and Mike Hanlon from the Losers Club.
