The Bite Magazine - Summer 2019 - Issue 25

bite catwalk DOMINNICO ominnico brought statement fabrics and bold colours to the catwalk in what he called “an ode to the eccentricity and ‘naffness” of fashion from the ‘60s to the present” channelling the much-loved styles of the past from the ‘60s mini skirt, ‘70s bell-bottoms, to the icon- ic looks of Vivienne Westwood, Elton John and Desti- ny’s Child all with a touch of ‘90s punk rock and animal print. All kinds of tastes were covered in this collection that brought the past into present. From the get-go the collection consisted of fuchsia pink, dramatic fur trims and tiered pink dresses, an attitude amplified by punk rock Mohican style fur head gear. Hot pink and silver hardware transformed into metallic fab- rics. Green checks were utilised into the more tailored section of the collection whereas jackets became dresses and featured flattering cutouts, tropical prints and rib- bon details. A sensual bondage style number of a ruched leather skirt held up by a snakeskin bikini top offered a clear look at the numerous styles channelled throughout the collection. A series of blue outfits featuring dainty feather trims that floated down the runway amplified the femininity of the brand. Dominnico is not afraid to ven- ture on the lines of playfulness and sensuality. www.dominnico.com
