bite catwalk A gatha Ruiz de la Prada is no stranger to fun and quirky fashion, taking it to a new level for Spring/ Summer 2019 with their use of VISATEX fabrics and recycled materials to create the playful sil- houettes the brand is known for. Exploring a taste of surreal- ism, the collection is comprised of a range of garments from the extreme to the everyday wearables: from skirts, culottes, bomber jackers to meringue dresses! It was a quirky pres- entation of colourful and experimental silhouettes, vibrant prints, and statement motifs. Statement textiles caught the eye through stunning jac- quards, simple patchworking and stylistic quilting. There was an overall sense of joy and wonder reflected through the bright greens and bubbly pinks utilised through the theatri- cal garments, staying true to the nature of the brand. It also felt like a nod to childhood memorabilia, with block shapes, colours and fun girly prints added to typically adult cloth- ing of A-line dresses and smart tops; a fun play on the seri- ousness of adulthood and a collection for the bold.
