The Bite Magazine - Summer 2019 - Issue 25

bite catwalk D uyos presented a collection inspired by the ‘light’ of women. With a sense of ‘60s futur- ism, models elegantly glided down the cat- walk in airy dresses, lightweight and fresh, ethereal and glowing. Romantic lines complimented the body and exuded comfort and beauty. ‘The radi- ance of something that touches your heart’ was daz- zling, shining, and glowing. The collection was full of energy, charisma and life through contrasting soft and bold colours. Icy greens, lavender, peach and gold sat against ink blue, lime green, turquoise and purple cre- ating an atmospheric palette. Models draped in gold and silver, the silhouettes were simply shaped but enhanced through the use of state- ment metallic floral jacquards and detailed beaded embellishments. Metallic fringing and beading were reminiscent of the 1920s art nouveau movement, with a series of slips similar to that of the swing dress, fea- turing intricate geometric beading and stunning fring- ing along the hem. Drawing into the use of lightweight fabrics such as chiffon, intricate gowns were enhanced with geometric squares of cut chiffon adding a capti- vating flounce movement to the garments, while fun silhouettes were created from the origami style tech- niques. http://duyos.net DUYOS JUAN
